About Alabama supplejack

Alabama supplejack is a native vine that wildlife absolutely loves. Birds feast on its berries, and butterflies and other pollinators visit its delicate flowers. The plant has a graceful, twining habit that creates a natural screen or covering on a fence or arbor. It's also called rattan vine, and that flexible quality gives it real charm as it weaves through your garden. This is one of those plants that does double duty—it looks lovely while being a genuine gift to your local birds and insects.

Growing supplejack is refreshingly simple. Plant it where it gets decent light and let it climb whatever structure appeals to you. It's a perennial, so it comes back year after year with minimal fussing. Water it during dry spells when it's young, and once established, it's pretty independent. If you want wildlife in your garden and something attractive to look at, this native vine is a wonderful choice that practically takes care of itself.
