About Desert willow

Desert willow is a delightful native shrub or small tree that belongs to the Bignoniaceae family. It puts on quite a show with long, slender leaves and lovely orchid-like flowers that bloom through the warm season. The flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies, making it a joy to watch from your porch. This perennial also provides shelter and food for local wildlife, so you're helping your native ecosystem right in your own yard.

Growing desert willow is refreshingly simple. It loves sunshine and well-draining soil, so find it a sunny spot in your garden. Water it regularly when young, but once established, it's quite drought-tolerant and low-maintenance. You can let it grow naturally as a shrub or prune it into a small tree shape, whichever you prefer. Either way, you'll have a beautiful, wildlife-friendly plant that rewards your kindness with years of colorful blooms.
